Bearded Iris Brewing was founded in Germantown, Tennessee in 2015 by Paul Vaughn and Kavon Togrye. The two had been friends since elementary school, and Vaughn had previously worked at Sweetwater Brewing in Georgia. In 2021, the company joined IndieBrew, a brewery collective created earlier that year by Scofflaw Brewing.
