D.L. Geary Brewing Company was founded in 1883 by David and Karen Geary in Portland, Maine. At the time, it was the 13th craft brewery in the country. In 2017, the couple sold the brewery to Robin and Alan Lapoint, who organized the brewery under their new holding company 1820 Brewing Company.
