8th Wonder Brewery was founded in 2013 in Austin, Texas by Ryan Soroka and Aaron Corsi. The two met on the University of Houston campus, where Soroka began working on the business plan for the brewery. The name for the brewery comes from the local stadium the Astrodome, which is known as “the 8th wonder of the world.” In 2018, the company added a distillery to their operation, and in 2022 they began a cannabis dispensary on site as well. That led the team to be introduced to Bayou City Hemp, which purchased the company in July of 2023.
