Wäls Cervejas was founded in 1999 in Belô Horizonte, Brazil by Pedras Carneiro and his sons Tiago and Jose Felipe. The brewery was one of the first in the region to brew Belgian style beers, and quickly gained recognition throughout the country. In 2015, the company was purchased by AmBev, the Brazilian subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev.
