Diekirch was first brewed in 1871 in Diekirch, Luxembourg under the name of Brasserie par actions de Diekirch. In 2000, Diekirch merged with nearby Mousel brewery to become Brasserie de Luxembourg Mousel-Diekirch. In 2002, the merged breweries were acquired by Interbrew, which became InBev when it merged with South American-based AmBev in 2004. Four years later, InBev purchased Anheuser-Busch and became Anheuser-Busch InBev.
