Griesedieck Brothers Brewery was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1911 by Anton, Henry, Raymond, Edward and Robert Griesedieck, along with their father Henry Griesedieck Jr. The family also owned Griesedieck Western Brewery, which made Stag Beer, as well as Falstaff Brewery. When the last of the brothers, Edward, died in 1955, the Griesedieck Brewery was sold to their cousins, who were running Falstaff, and the brand went dormant. In 2002, Henry’s son Raymond A. Griesedieck revived the trademark and started brewing beer under the revived Griesedieck Brothers Brewing Company.
