Hinano is a brand of beer created by Brasserie de Tahiti, originally as Aorai, in Papeete, French Polynesia in 1914. It was founded by Henry Robert Fermann, who sold the company to utilities magnate Emil Martin in 1937. In 1955, the beer was renamed Hinano. Brasserie de Tahiti, a subsidiary of The Martin Group, still owns the brewery today.
