Krombacher Brauerei was founded in Krombach, Germany in 1803 by Johannes Hess. It remained in the Hess family until 1896, when it was sold to Otto Eberhardt. In 1922 Bernhard Schadeberg took over the brewery, and his grandson by the same name still runs it to this day.
