Browar Łomża was founded in Łomża, Poland in 1968 by the Polish government. With the fall of the communist government, the brewing industry began to be privatized, and Browar Łomża became publicly traded in 1997. In 2007, the brewery was purchased by Danish company Royal Unibrew. However, four years later Unibrew sought to divest itself of its Polish holdings, and the company was sold to local company Van Pur.
