Patricia beer was first brewed in Minas, Uruguay in 1936, originally under the name Serrana by the company Salus. In 1956, it was renamed to Patricia. In 2000, Salus was split up, with their mineral water division going to Danone, and the beer division going to AmBev. In 2004, AmBev merged with Belgian company Interbrew to become InBev. Four years later, InBev purchased Anheuser-Busch to become Anheuser-Busch InBev.
