Three Notch’d Brewing Company was created in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2013 by Scott Roth, George Kastendike and Derek Naughton. The brewery is named after Three Notch’d Road that runs through the heart of Virginia. Naughton and Roth met brewmaster Dave Warwick at the Virginia Craft Brewers Fest when they had approached him about joining the team. Warwick had been a brewmaster at Rock Bottom Brewery before accepting the position. The team opened up their brewery in the former Monticello Dairy Building, and in 2017 expanded to a new facility at the Ix Art Park. The brewery now includes 6 locations total: in addition to their Charlottesville headquarters, they also have spots in Roanake, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Harrisonburg, and Nelson County.
