Zubr Beer was introduced by Dojildy Brewery in Bialystok, Poland in 1768. The brewery was founded that year by Jan Klemins Branicki. Dojildy remained independent until 2003, when it was purchased by Kompania Piwowarska, at the time a subsidiary of SABMiller. When the parent company was purchased by Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2016, European authorities required them to divest of several assets, and Zubr was sold to Asahi Holdings.
