What does ASAHI HOLDINGS Own?
Asahi began in 1889 and in 1893 became known as Ōsaka Breweries. In 1906 it merged with Nippon and Sapporo Breweries to become Dai-Nippon Breweries. However, after World War II, the companies were split up under the allied occupation. It later became known as Katakana breweries in 1989, and then later Asahi Group Holdings in 2011. The company has purchased significant stakes in breweries all over the world, making them a global player.
