Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company was created in 1997 as a joint partnership between the Spanish agricultural firm Cobega and Coca Cola, each owning 70% and 30% respectively. In 2005, the company purchased CERIS from the Madeira Company. CERIS produces soft drinks, water, and beer, including the Cape Verde beer Strela.
