What does PAULANER BREWERY GROUP Own?

Paulaner Brewery was created sometime before 1634 by the order of Paulaner monks in Munich, Germany. When the monastary was dissolved in 1799, the brewery was taken over by Franz Xaver Zacherl, and eventually was renamed to Gebrüder Schmederer Aktienbrauerei, and then later Paulaner-Salvator-Brauerei to protect their “Salvator” trademark. In 1928 they merged with Gebrüder Thomass brewery to become Paulaner Salvator Thomas Bräu. In 1979, the brewery was purchased along with Hacker-Pschorr by the Schörghuber Group to become Paulaner Brewery Group. In 2002, they took on a 30% investment by Heineken N.V.
