What does VAN STEENBURGE Own?
Van Steenburge Brewery was founded in Evergem, Belgium in 1784 by Jean Baptiste De Bruin, originally under the name De Peer. The company passed first to his widow Angelina Petronella Schelfaut, and then to her cousin Jozef Schelfaut. Schelfaut’s daughter Margriet married Paul Van Steenberg, who took over the company in 1919 and renamed it Bios, and when his son Jozef took over the company in 1962 he renamed it Van Steenburge.
