Darwin Brewing was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 2012 by Darwin Santa Maria and Bill Cornelius. In 2015, Santa Maria left the company, and in 2021, Cornelius sold the brand to Big Storm Brewing. In 2023, Santa Maria repurchased the brand from Big Storm.
